About the Project:
The HEPSANET Egypt team, based at Helwan University, is dedicated to advancing research and clinical management of hepatitis B in Egypt. The specialized HBV Clinic at Badr University Hospital plays a crucial role in patient care, training, and data collection for the HEPSANET registry. This clinic strengthens our capacity to provide specialized medical services while contributing valuable research data to improve hepatitis B management in Africa.

Our Objectives:

  • Clinical Care: Provide comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services for patients with hepatitis B.

  • Research & Data Collection: Contribute de-identified patient data to the HEPSANET registry for longitudinal studies.

  • Medical Training: Offer educational programs for medical students and healthcare professionals to enhance expertise in hepatology.

  • Collaboration & Capacity Building: Strengthen partnerships with HEPSANET institutions to support regional and global efforts in hepatitis B research and policy development.

Key Contributions to HEPSANET:

  • Integration of HBV clinic into the HEPSANET research network.

  • Contribution of clinical and epidemiological data to understand hepatitis B progression in Egyptian populations.

  • Participating in training workshops and research initiatives for local and regional healthcare professionals.
